Premier Outdoor Environments, Inc. began serving clients in the spring of 2000. It all started with two young men and a passion for the outdoors, landscape design and construction. That two-man operation has grown and now employs many talented individuals who love what they do and work hard to excel in their crafts. We are proud to say many of our key foremen and employees have been with us since day one; Premier Outdoor Environments is a very caring and family-oriented company.

Our goal is to provide you with quality products and materials, excellent service, and a beautiful landscape that you can be pleased to own and enjoy. We pride ourselves on having one single point of contact throughout all phases of your project or maintenance program. From the first day you call, you will work with the very same person through every step of the way — and that person is usually one of our owners. We truly are Chicagoland’s premier outdoor environment company. Whether it is the off-season or busy season, we will be there to answer the phone, return calls and emails day or night. We can even meet you at convenient times, like early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

POE is proud to have been the recipients of many prestigious awards, including first place in Unilock’s 2019 Best Outdoor Living Under 1,000 Sq. Ft. We were also honored to have our work featured on the front cover of Unilock’s 2018 Company Wide Catalog. Additionally, our work has received an honorable mention in the 2017 Hardscape North America Awards and first place in the Unilock’s 2016 Best Before & After.

Nathan Filip

President and Owner
Manages the Design and Construction Division

Nathan has 10+ years in the landscaping industry. He attended horticulture classes at the College of DuPage and business classes at DeVry University. Nathan has been an entrepreneur since he was a kid, from lemonade stands to ownership in a sound and lighting production company. He has always had a true passion for the outdoors and landscape, starting out small with mowing lawns and shoveling driveways. Nathan loves to be presented with new challenges by clients, and can nearly always find a way to accommodate a request! He actually tends to over-engineer projects, because of his firm belief in doing things right the first time. In the off-season, you may find him sneaking away from the cold to scuba dive.

Matt Cook

Chief Operating Officer and Owner
Manages the Installation and Maintenance Division

With more than 10 years in the landscaping industry, Matt attended horticulture classes at Illinois State University and business classes at DeVry University. As a youngster, you would often find Matt playing soccer or building a tree house, rather than inside playing video games. He loves working out in the field, and can be found with the crews on a day-to-day basis. Matt always works diligently to ensure our clients are 100% satisfied, and our employees are safe and happy. He ensures all equipment is properly maintained, and is up to date with herbicide and pesticide application processes. When Matt gets time off, you can find him fishing up in northern Wisconsin.
