Natural Elements - Elmhurst, IL

This small quant space features everything in a small and functional area. The client wanted an outdoor living and dining space, a built-in grill, and a fire feature all with a courtyard setting. The grill is within close proximity to the back door, giving it easy access to the kitchen inside. The outdoor dining space is centrally located on the patio, there is a small high-top space near the grill which allows a few people to converse with the person grilling. A linear fire feature was built into the seat wall which has plenty of space for someone to pull up a chair or sofa in front of, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and warming up after dinner on a chilly evening. The materials chosen on this project play off the front of the house making it look like it was there since day one. The brick and mortar matches the brick on the home along the natural thermal bluestone chosen for the flooring. Low voltage accent lighting was installed underneath the coping, caps, countertop, and stair treads to give a nice soft and subtle look at night.

This design is a perfect example of efficient use of a small space. Featuring a grill, fire feature, and dining and living area, we were able to include everything in this client's wish list.
